Starting a Garden
One of the goals of having a place for both of us has been to make it sustain us and not really have to spend money. Â If that goal goes farther to where it also pays for itself then that’s even better. Â I’m definitely certain that this year we’re going to spend a lot less money on vegetables.
Not too many pictures, but this is the start of our garden. Â Don’t have the cash on hand to rent a tiller so 20 bucks spent for one shovel and one hoe. Â Two people for the hours power.
Who Needs a Grocery Store?
I suppose you could say this is pretty damn hill billy. Â Yet it’s also a way of not wasting possible food. Â The first few days we were getting lost pretty easily trying to figure out better ways to get places we knew how to get to. Â Trying to get up to that shopping center proved out to be a good time to get lost.
It was a cold morning so we figured we might as well take a look at the possible bounty on the side of the road. Â After looking at it for a moment it was decided to toss the deer into the bed of my pick up and take it home.
Yes, these pictures are graphic but I don’t give a fuck, it’s my page and the venison has been very tasty since then. Â Really lucked out with this find as all it had was a broken neck and was probably 12 hours old or less.
My Yard, House.
Here’s some pictures of the outside of where I now live. Â Getting it all ready for spring planting. Â Figure we’re gonna build a chicken tractor (not started yet), a new rabbit hutch (not started yet), larger aquaponics (not started yet) and of course our big ass garden.
First one is the front yard. Â Second is the house, notice the flag?
, last three are the back yard.
Went and moved from California
So I figure I’ll start a thread now that I have some time. Not too many pictures, haven’t gotten the out doors yet been working all week but here’s some of the goodness so far. Mind you we moved from San Diego across country towing a pick up truck behind a jeep cherokee. We filled up both vehicles and that means no furniture or any of those “nice” things. Basically living on the very basics that we have access to as we build things up. There will be a lot of things throughout the next few months as we build and get our new place of residence more sustainable.
I have to start off with my dog, my bad:
Forgot to buy a shower curtain, guess what we did instead with the extra one?
My friend and coconspirator smoking a cuban on night number one of living here:
Ooops, accidentally set my hand on fire with a giant USMC lighter:
The important things to build what we need:
Quick view of my room, I mentioned no furniture right?
Guess what my sleeping pad is
My trash can, cheap as hell
General storage of things like ammo, camping gear, cables and anything else that could fit into these
Laundry hamper:
guess the rifles before I build my new gun rack for the room
I’ll take some out door pictures tomorrow before we start working on my truck to get it running again so there will be before and after pictures.
