Like many people I’ve made resolutions for the new year. It’s been tough keeping them but I’ve been slowly working on it. I have been hitting up Muy Thai at Gym 445 almost once a week, I’ll get to the at least twice a week sooner rather than later hopefully. The other thing I’ve been trying to do is at least jog/walk a mile a day and build up to being able to run three kilometers in 30 minutes.

The running has been a bitch because I’m just guestimating what I’ve really been doing. That is until I went through Life Hacker and found a post about RunKeeper. There is a free version available but I didn’t want to deal with advertisements and ten bucks for the pro version really ain’t that much.

I did my first test with a walk a few minutes ago, mostly because I’m already wearing jeans and didn’t want to get into running gear. I have to say I’m impressed with the application. It does keep track of your route fairly well, and it does average out how fast you walk or run. It should be very helpful in keeping track of my running and help me meet the goals I’ve set for myself.
